The Integumentary System has many functions it may serve to waterproof, cushion, and protect the deeper tissues, excrete waste, and is the location of receptors for pain. The Integumentary System is the longest part of the tour because it’s the largest organ system. While were touring the Integumentary System you will see hair follicles, veins, artery, epidermis, sweat pores, oil glands, hair shaft, and even more. Skeletal System n n n The Skeletal System is important because it serves many important functions like it provides the shape and form of our bodies. It also supports, protects, allows bodily movement, produces blood for the body and strong minerals. While on the tour we will get to see 206 different bones of the Skeletal System. The 206 bones form a rigid framework to which the softer tissues and organs of the body are attached. The 206 bones are connected to each other by ligaments and when bones meet each other it’s called a joint. While on tour be gentle while touching the bones because some bones are more sensitive and easier to break than others.

Nervous System n n n The Nervous System is a network of specialized cells that communicate information about an organism’s surroundings and itself. It takes the information down and causes reactions in other parts of the body. The nerve cord, spinal cord, and brain make up the central nervous system. The central Nervous System is extremely important because it is the part of the nervous system that functions to coordinate the activity of all parts of the bodies multicellular organisms. Be very careful passing through the Central Nervous System because harm to the system can cause brain damaged and paralysis.
Circulatory System The Circulatory System is an organ system that transport nutrients like amino acids, electrolytes, gases, hormones, blood cells, and nitrogen waste products to cells in the body to help fight diseases. ► The main components of the Circulatory System are the heart, the blood, and the blood vessels. The heart pumps oxygenated blood to the body and de-oxygenated blood to the lungs. In the heart there are four chambers called the left atrium, right atrium, left ventricle, and right ventricle. ►

Digestive System § The digestive system is made up of the digestive tract a series of hollow organs joined in a long twisting tube from the mouth to the anus. Organs that make up the digestive tract are the mouth, stomach, intestines, and more. § The digestive system is important because when you eat food such as bread, meat, and vegetables there not in a form the body can use as nourishment. Foods and drinks must be changed into smaller molecules of nutrients before the can be absorbed into the blood and carried out to cells throughout the body. § Digestion is the process which foods are broken down into their smaller parts. Be careful passing through this system because it’s disgusting foods are being broken down with slimy smelly digestive juices.
