Global News : COVID-19 crisis • TRACOM meeting of September is organized virtually. • First TRACOM meeting of 2021 is supposed to take place in Langfang, CHINA. It would be wise to start thinking about an alternative… • There are some uncertainties about the fact that WGC will proceed under the best conditions in June 2021, in particular about attendance : this is why we think it is best to propose the most relevant subjects in the final report. • There is a discussion now inside IGU Management Team about the possibility of postponing WGC (1 year). It means perhaps a WGC 2022. 8 A Sustainable Future – Powered by Gas
COVID crisis : possible consequences for TRACOM If postponing is confirmed around November 2020, we will continue to work : 1. We will organize other online meetings by the end of October 2020 in order to hear all presentations : March’s presentations and September’s complementary presentations. 2. We will organize an online vote in order to finalize study cases for final report in November 2020. 3. The introductions and conclusions will be written for beginning of 2021. 4. We will adjust analysing Call for Papers perhaps in 2021 (waiting for more information from Coordination Committee). 5. We will try to organize a physical meeting during Spring 2021. If not, schedule will not be moved : 1. Final report for April 2021. 2. Selection of abstracts for the end of 2020. 3. Selection of presentations for Industry Insights and Technology and Innovations for the end of 2020 A Sustainable Future – Powered by Gas
Organisation of September Meeting Among the presentations shared with the members since the first TRACOM meeting : • Some of the last presentations shared in September can be added in TRACOM final report if deemed relevant. At the end, TRACOM Final Report should include at least 2 study cases per Chapter, i. e. 6 study cases per Study Group. • 6 presentations per Study Group should be chosen for WGC 2021 : for Industry Insight, and 3 for Technology & Innovation Session. The same kind of online voting tool will be used to get feedback from the members between September 14 th and 30 th. A Sustainable Future – Powered by Gas 3 1 0

Joint Presentation with R&D Committee for WGC 2021 Details of such collaboration are currently discussed with R&D Committee Chairman, M. Hisataka Yakabe : • Given the actual situation, it will not be possible to have one member from Transmission Committee and one member from R&D Committee working together on a joint presentation. • Thus the idea is : o to invite 1 speaker from R&D Committee on mix-gas theme (SG 1), and 1 other speaker on digitalization (SG 3). o to send 1 speaker from TRACOM SG 1 on mix-gas theme to R&D Committee session, and 1 other speaker from TRACOM SG 3 on digitalization to R&D Committee session.
