Attendance There has been a lot of speculation recently about requests for holidays in term time. The Government has not issued new guidelines for Leave of Absence. Head Teachers cannot authorise leave of absence unless there are exceptional circumstances. If a request has been declined by the school we will pass that information to the Local Authority. The Local Authority then review the case and will make a decision on whether or not to issue a Fixed Penalty (fine). Phoenix Collegiate has no influence on this decision making.
