About the Transit. Chek® Card • The Transit. Chek® Card, a prepaid Visa® card, is an anonymous card which allows you to purchase SF Muni 7–Day Passports, BART passes, Caltrain tickets, and all other transit tickets and passes using tax-free dollars wherever Visa debit cards are accepted. • Transit. Chek Cards are available in a variety of denominations to best meet your commuting needs. • The initial value is embossed on the Card. The Transit. Chek® Card (continued) • Additional dollars can be added to the Card up to three times per Card if your monthly commuting costs exceed the monthly pretax limit. • Before you are allowed to add funds you must register the Card. You will need to provide some personal information. • The Transit. Chek Card, a prepaid Visa® card can hold a maximum value of $500. • To add value go to the Transit. Manage Funds On Your Transit. Chek® Card • You can combine funds from two Transit. Chek Cards and add funds from a personal debit or credit card – The Card must be registered before funds can be added or combined. Some personal information will be required. • Transfer balances from one Transit. Chek Card to another Transit. Chek Card – If you have money left on your Card, you can easily transfer the balance from one Transit. Chek Card to another Transit. Chek Card. You can make up to three transfers onto one Card. – To make a transfer, log on to the Transit. Chek Card website, or call the toll-free number. – When using the website, choose the “Transfers” tab and follow instructions. • Add Value From a Personal Debit or Credit Card – If the amount of your commute is greater than your tax-fee deduction, you can add value from a personal debit or credit card to your Transit. Chek Card only if your card is registered. – To add value, log on to the Transit.
