3 RD GRADE • (8) Data analysis. The student applies mathematical process standards to solve problems by collecting, organizing, displaying, and interpreting data. The student is expected to. • (A) summarize a data set with multiple categories using a frequency table, dot plot, pictograph, or bar graph with scaled intervals.
TRANSFORMATION • A transformation is a general term for four specific ways to manipulate the shape of a point, a line, or shape. The original shape of the object is called the pre-image and the final shape and position of the object is the image under the transformation.

TRANSLATION • Definition : "Sliding": moving a shape without rotating or flipping it. Description: The shape still looks exactly the same, just in a different place.

REFLECTION • A reflection over a line is a transformation in which each point of the original figure (pre-image) has an image that is the same distance from the line of reflection as the original point but is on the opposite side of the line. Remember that a reflection is a flip.

ROTATION • A circular movement. Rotation has a central point that stays fixed and everything else moves around that point in a circle. A full Rotation is 360.
