SECOND GRADE: • (A) identify attributes of two-dimensional shapes using informal and formal geometric language interchangeably; • (B) classify and sort a variety of regular and irregular two- and three-dimensional figures regardless of orientation or size • (C) create two-dimensional shapes using a variety of materials and drawings; and • (D) recognize the different ways to move shapes along a plane.
WHAT IS A TRANSFORMATION? ? • A transformation moves a figure to a new place, without changing its size or shape. • The four Different types of transformations: • Translation • Reflection • Rotation • Glide Reflection
