Resume- GPA �BU Law uses a 4. 3 scale (not a 4. 0) for GPA �If the school you previously attended uses a 4. 0 scale, be sure to indicate that on your resume Example: GPA: 3. 6/4. 0 or GPA: 3. 56/4. 00 �Otherwise, interviewers reading through resumes quickly may miss that your GPA is not out of a 4. 3 scale, making it appear lower than it is
Cover Letter �You should mention your transfer in your cover letter to avoid any confusion �Consider addressing your decision to transfer You should not include the following reasons: � Solely because BU Law is ranked higher than your previous institution � You wanted a better chance of obtaining a job � You disliked your previous institution You may want to include the following reasons (if applicable): � BU Law has a concentration or coursework in the area in which you are interested (and this is an area of law this employer practices) � You were outside of Boston and knew you wanted to work and live here long-term
