Training & Placement Department • Major Link between the students and the Companies for the Summer Internship Program as well as for Final Placements. • Liaises with various industrial establishments, corporate houses etc. which conduct campus interviews or Interviews at Corporate or City offices. • According to the students’ specialization , the T&P dept. selects students for the required openings and trains them for the openings. • Conducts year round trainings for students to make them JOB READY.
Training & Placement Department • Provides the infrastructural facilities to the companies to conduct group discussions, tests and interviews. • Different Industry representatives in the country contact the college for the upcoming openings in and out of Nagpur. • Industries which approach the institute are: *Telecom *Banks *Recruitment Consultants *Manufacturing Industries *Beverages *Event Management *General & Life Insurance *Consumer Durables *Financial Services *Media *Software Services *NGOs *FMCG *Education
Functions of T&P Deptt. • Invite companies to consider our students for ON or Offcampus/Pool campus. • Train the students to draft their Resumes. • Communicate with companies as well as the students. • Facilitate conduct of entire selection process and coordination with students and companies for the same. • Follow up for list of selected students. • Interact with the concerned company people to checkup on the students’ work after their joining the company.
Why SIP? • Because… - Students are generally freshers without experience - Exposure to short practical industry experience helps them grasp theory better - It helps students develop professional approach to work - It helps build confidence in students, required when they go for final placement interviews
SIP – Orientation, Training & Duration • Internship is the practical experience given to students by the company in the specific department / operational areas. • Department selection depends on the Specializations, graduation degree of the students and their interest. • Compulsory 45 days to 60 days internship program for RTMNU students.
DURATION OF SIP • SIP is during the II nd Semester Summers – After the University Exams of 2 nd Sem. • DURATION – MAY 2018 TO 8 th JULY 2018 • DATE OF JOINING COLLEGE th (for Sem III) – 9 JULY 2017 TH 8
Stipend for SIP • • Stipend means “Remuneration” Stipend provided by the company is at the discretion of the company. Generally NO stipend is provided If company agrees - Monthly Stipend (optional) ranges between Rs. 1000 – Rs. 2500/- per month • Allowances ü Petrol ü Mobile Company’s discretion ü Incentives ü Any expenses done on behalf of the firm personally. • Work Timings: As per the policy of the company. • Travelling : As per the policy of the company which would be disclosed at the time of the Interview.
SIP Weekly Report • Format will be given • Students are expected to fill Weekly report, get it approved by company mentor and report to faculty mentor • At the end of SIP, the student is expected to submit the report to the respective faculty mentor
SIP Project Report & Presentation • Students have to prepare a project report on the work they have done during their SIP. • One copy of this report is to be submitted to the college. • The company may also ask for a copy of the report for its reference.

TO GET A GOOD INTERNSHIP
STEP 1. Create a Great Resume for Your Internship • If you’re applying for an internship, what are you supposed to put on your resume when you have no work experience? • The things which should be in your resume at this point of time : • The information about your academics, Co curricular, extra curricular, achievements at school & college level, etc.
Step 2 : Preparing yourself for interview • Prepare yourself with answers of some basic questions that can be asked in the interview. Example : • Introduce yourself. • What are your strengths & weaknesses • Why should I hire you? • What are your short term and long term goals? • What are your expectations from the company after successful completion of Internship program. Etc. . .
Step 3 : Information of the company & profile • The students are expected to go through the company information (like business, industry, product line, locations, turnover, etc) and details of profile they offer.
Step 4 : The Internship Interview • Does the thought of going on an interview make your hands sweat? • You’re not alone. Many people get nervous right before the interview. What do you say… especially if you don’t have a ton of experience? • Just be confident and be true to yourself • Prepare well before the interview.
Rules / Process of SIP • Register for the company, you are interested in. Stick to the registration date. • Attending briefing session before the actual interview is mandatory. • Reach interview venue 15 min. Before the given time. • The students are expected to appear for interview strictly in formal attire and formal footwear
• The student should carry their Resume (in a proper folder). • The students are expected to behave properly during the interview and while waiting for their turn. • Please make sure that all the students who are lined up, are present. • Report the authority back, once you are done with the interview.
Rules to be followed during SIP • Once your SIP is finalised, the students are expected to join on the date given by the company. This needs to be informed to T&P. • Be punctual on work • Be Attentive and sincere on work • Report timely to your authority • Report weekly to your SIP project guide in college, and fill student weekly report.
• It is mandatory for the students to fill this report weekly. • This will help students in understanding, what they have learnt. • This will help the students to prepare the final SIP report.
SIP - Examination • After completion of SIP, the students are required to prepare SIP Project Report. • The SIP work is evaluated on the basis of presentation and Viva, which is conducted for all students after few days of finishing SIP. • The evaluation carry 100 marks, which are sent to university.
