Project Scope and Objectives § US DOE estimates that the majority of residential HVAC systems do not perform at their rated efficiency as a result of improper installation and this these issues can reduce performance by as much as 30% § Often sized, installed, and commissioned improperly § Project will focus on the development of: § BC-specific training curriculum to help train BC HVAC contractors on the quality installation of high efficiency furnaces and heat pumps in residential retrofit applications § Heat Pump Best Practices Installation Guide § Focus on retrofit applications (i. e. replacing existing equipment at end of life) § Holistic view of HVAC systems, including design (e. g. proper sizing), installation, commissioning, and O&M § Overarching objective is to shift the marketplace towards best practices ICF proprietary and confidential.
