CC vs. WS Centralized CBTC System • Wayside Centralized CBTC System Multi levels backup mode, fault isolation Less data in CC, more interoperability Mass wayside equipment, cost is higher

CC vs. WS Centralized CBTC System • Carborne Centralized CBTC System Simple in structure and dataflow Low transmission delay Low Cost Easily re-signaling Mass data in CC, a hinder of interoperability No backup mode with ATP

Constituent of CBTC System • Type 1: High Safety and Real-time CI, ZC, ATP/ATO, LEU, DSU, OC • Type 2: Medium Safety and Real-time ATS, ISCS • Type 3: Non-safety and Real-time HMI (ATS, CI, MMI, ISCS)

Constituent of CBTC System • Type 1: High Safety and Real-time Embedded Safety Platform (2 x 2002, 3002, hot-standby) Embedded Distributed Real-time Database • Type 2: Medium Safety and Real-time COTS based Safety Platform (hot-standby, private cloud) Distributed Real-time Database Universal Configuration Software (SCADA) • Type 3: Non-safety and Real-time Universal HMI Library
