LEARNING TPACK • Before learning and applying this theory I had no idea about the aspects of it. I though there was just teaching, and had no idea it expands into so many horizons! It is crazy that there is so many aspects that go into something that outwardly seems so simplistic!
THE HOWS • TECHNOLOGY – The incorporation of technology and how you are updating your classroom and technological understanding • PEDAGOGICAL – The way you are trying to teach. You can use different methods and ways dependant on ages, grades, development, abilities and such • CONTENT – What you are trying to teach, the subject itself and how knowledgeable you are yourself on the topic
HOW I FEEL… Learning about these learning styles and how they are interconnected has definitely helped me to be able to specifically know what I need to be working on right now and where improvement is needed and I can make further connections between how I teach, what I teach, and when to combine it with technology. It’s all about awareness.
HOW I AM DOING WITH IT PERSONALLY • TECHNOLOGY - I feel quite good with technology and have the ability to use and/or easily learn to use the different programs. needed for teaching and educational purposes. I have helped many friends and family with their technological struggles and I truly think teaching with said resources should not be an issue. • PEDAGOGICAL - I have taught swimming lessons, drama classes, taught lessons in my church and ran a library program for children. I also have seven younger brothers and sister and have a very large extended family. I feel in a lot of ways I am quite knowledgeable when it comes to teaching children and problem solving. I still have a lot to learn as I have not completed any of my practicums. • Content - I am in my first year so I know that there is still a major amount of content to learn and obtain.
