A: The weather in my country is mostly very hot and humid. There are five different seasons, Summer, Monsoon (rainy), Autumn, Winter and Spring. Summer is the longest season and it lasts for five or six months. During summer, the temperature can rise as high as 40 Degrees Celsius. People usually stay indoor during daytime and go out in the evening when the weather is a lot cooler. People enjoy the fresh fruits such as mango, lychee, pineapple, watermelon, and papaya.

Most of my neighbours are very friendly. We say ‘hello’ to each other whenever we meet. There is a school near my house and a playground at the end of the road. There are no shops on my road, so we go to the local Tesco for all our shopping which is only five minutes’ walk from our house. Around the corner there is a bus stop.

I then take my children to their schools and when I come back I have a cup of tea/ I pop the kettle on for a brew. At around 12 o’clock, I start to prepare the lunch for the kids. I usually go to pick up my children from school at 3 o’clock. When we come home, we have a lunch. Once they’ve had a little bit of rest, I make them do their homework. My husband returns from his work and after dinner, we sit together in the living room, watching tv. After washing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen, I go to bed at around 10 pm.

It was a very emotional journey for me as it was the first time I went home after marriage. All my uncles and aunties were so happy see me and gave me big hugs. I felt so much love by them. I wish I could go back again but because of coronavirus I have to stay put and be patient until there is a vaccine.

Rice is the main source of carbohydrates and it is the main agricultural product in our country. The most common source of protein is fish because there are lots of rivers in my country. People eat meat and chicken on special occasions. There is a wide variety of vegetables available during different seasons and people eat the seasonal fruits and vegetables that are produced locally. In the cities, there a lot of restaurants and fast food shops. The most famous and popular food in my country is a fish called Hilsha fish which is available in the monsoon season.

The most popular mode of public transport in my country is Rickshaw or cycle rickshaw which are basically a type of tri-cycle with as cart for passengers to sit on top. Cycle is driven by men called ‘rickshawallah’ who take you from one place to another. Also there are taxis, buses, cars and motor bikes which people use to travel in the city. People travel by trains, buses and cars when they travel from one city to another city.
