The reason is very clear: they do not want to get tanned. Another thing they do is to take vitamin C regularly, which is supposed to lighten skin color. Some women also use skinlightening products to make their faces fair. A few women even take the risk of having their skin bleached by a doctor, which is very dangerous for people with sensitive skin. Women in Taiwan do try hard to lighten their skin.
