1) Community A community is a group of people living together in a particular area of a city, town or village with some common social interests and purpose. Here, all members help and stand by one another at the time of need. It is necessary to follow certain norms to live in a community. We must respect each other and create a bonding in a community.
2) Community Eating and its Importance � � � Some social get together parties, festivals, celebrations, etc. bring the society members closer. We eat together in such occasions. Food is cooked in large quantities in big utensils and served in community centres or arranged open grounds to the members. This is known as community eating. Some advantages of community eating are: Strengthen our relationships. Chance of healthy conversations. Sense of belongingness and unity. Helps to forget the differences of religion, caste, region, colour, creed, etc. Promote the community service or service to mankind by working together.
3) Types of Community Meals Community meals are arranged in wedding, NGOs for different organisations, welfare bodies, religious trusts, social gatherings and food service to poor and needy people. One of the present examples is – due to Corona Virus(COVID-19) infection, poor and needy people are fed by some trusts or organisations in our country. Some more examples of community meals seen in our country are Langar(Guru Dwara), Bhandara(Temples), Dham(Himachal Pradesh), Onam Sadhya(Kerala), Pongala(Temples), Hostels, Mid-day meals in schools, etc. These all develop a sense of togetherness, confidence and equality to all.
