Top 5 Favs in PR! By: Kylie Greene
Social Media • I learned a lot in PR this semester, it was such a good intro class for my major. But one of my favorite things that I learned was all of the different social media platforms and how they implement so well with PR. I liked learning about how well Twitter and Facebook have grown and help PR get the word out. They went from being personal social media platforms to a sort of advertisement type for companies. I also learned so many new social media sites, like Linked. In. There are hundreds of social media sites that I didn't have any idea about they correlate with PR.
Thank You for Smoking • Another thing we discussed this semester that I really enjoyed was implementing all of our strategies, like the RACE acronym and the agenda setting theory while we were watching Thank You for Smoking. I liked how sarcastic and straightforward the movie was, and how it really did include all of the things that we were learning at the time.
Advertising • When we discussed advertising I really liked how we watched that video on the commercial that had words piling up on each other, and turning different ways. It made the topic (which I can't remember off the top of my head) way more interesting and it holds your attention. Advertising is an area that I would like to go into because you can be creative and put your own twist on things.
Advertising cont. I could elaborate on advertising forever, because I love watching commercials and seeing how creative the companies are. I also like to see what they are coming out with next, this is also an area I wouldn't mind being put into. Watching the Superbowl is one of my favorite times during football because of all the funny commercials, and how much the companies are willing to pay for air time. This commercial is by far my favorite when it comes to advertising during the Superbowl. . • http: //www. youtube. com/watch? v=CTdi 8 Vq. Eqp 0
Events and Promotions • Last but not least, my favorite thing we talked about this semester was events and promotions! I want to go into events more than anything, and actually being able to sit down in a class room and learn about it was such a good feeling. I love events and have planned some before, but learning the backbone of it was such a good experience.
I learned a lot this semester and can't wait to pursue my future in PR! • http: //www. foxsearchlight. com/thankyoufors moking/ • http: //www. weddingwire. com/biz/glow-event -planners-decocayey/f 430 a 525 de 8 c 37 e 2. html
