Forgotten lore - Lore can often bring to mind ideas of supernatural concepts, leading us to imagine the worst as the noise at his door is introduced. Rapping / Tapping - By repeating this sound it allows for suspense to build and tension to mount. Nothing more – Ending a tense stanza with the words “nothing more” gives an allusion to potential death.

For each one, underline or otherwise highlight every word or phrase that contributes to the mood or tone of the piece explain if each contributes to mood or tone, and then explain how they contribute to mood/tone. Each piece must be from a different work (don’t just pull 5 paragraphs from the same story).

Then, rewrite each paragraph, switching out words as needed, to change the mood of each piece. Your goal is to change the mood and/or tone, NOT the meaning of the piece. Then explain what you changed and how you went about doing it.
