Purpose of Data Overview Demographic data of student population Review CRCT and Milestones data in grades 3 -5 Indicate strengths and weaknesses in standardized test data Key areas for academic improvement
School Enrollment Number 750 Student Population [VALUE] 700 [VALUE] 650 [VALUE] 600 [VALUE] 550 2012 2013 2014 Year 2015 2016
Race/Ethnicity 2015 -2016 School Year

Questions and Observations Although state school enrollment is has increased over the past five years, district and school enrollment has declined. Why? Tolbert’s percentage of enrolled white students is decreasing. The percentage of enrolled Hispanic students and percentage of Limited English Proficient students is increasing. Tolbert has the highest percentage of students in district on Free/Reduced Lunch. What do you see in the data?
CRCT Testing “The CRCT is designed to measure how well students acquire the skills and knowledge described in the state mandated content standards in reading, English/language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The assessments yield information on academic achievement at the student, class, school, system, and state levels. This information is used to diagnose individual student strengths and weaknesses as related to the instruction of the state standards” ("Georgia Department of Education: Curriculum Instruction and Assessment”, n. d. ). CRCT (Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests) were administered 2012, 2013, 2014. Scoring Guide - Below 800 Does Not Meet the Standard, 800 to 849 Meets the Standard, and 850+ Exceeds the Standard

CRCT Overview of Comparison Summary Based on data from 2012 -2014, mathematics was the weakest content area for 3 rd-5 th grades during those testing years. In 2012, more than 20% of students DID NOT MEET the standard. 2013 and 2014 test scores were progressively better, with less students not meeting and more students exceeding. The strongest content area was reading. Students not meeting decreased over the three-year period, and students who exceeded increased over that same period. Why do you think this is?

Georgia Milestones Testing The Georgia Milestones Assessment System replaced the CRCT in 2015. The Georgia Milestones is “designed to provide information about how well students are mastering the state-adopted content standards in the core content areas” and “provide students with critical information about their own achievement and their readiness for their next level of learning” ("Georgia Department of Education: Curriculum Instruction and Assessment”, n. d. ).
Georgia Milestones Testing “Tolbert Elementary continues to produce student achievement scores (as measured on standardized assessments) that exceed state and district averages. The chart below shows that Tolbert is still making gains. Tolbert was at the state average or above in all but two categories” (Angland, 2016, p. 5).
