Registration Packets/Online Registration ● Registration packets will be available in Glasgow’s front office on March 1. ● Students who are new to the district may register online. We will post a link on the Glasgow Middle School website.

Course Selection Students and parents will use a Google Form to register for elective courses. The form will be posted on the Glasgow Middle School website.

Math Placement Testing All students who are considering enrolling in Glasgow’s Gifted, Scholastic Academy, and Great Scholars Academy programs should take the math placement test.
Math Placement Testing We will have several administrations of the test: ● Saturday, May 8 at Glasgow (8 AM) ● Tuesday, May 11 at Glasgow (5 PM) ● School site administrations: Buchanan Elementary, Wildwood Elementary, La. Salle Elementary.
Math Placement Testing ● Students will be placed in math classes based on their performance on the placement test. ● Recent standardized test data and grades from elementary school math courses will also be examined in the placement process. ● Students may be placed in Math 6, Math 7, Math 8 (Introduction to Algebra) or Algebra I.
Math Placement Testing ● Students will have 90 minutes to complete the test. However, students usually complete the test in 45 -60 minutes. ● The test will cover state standards from sixth grade, seventh grade, and eighth grade math. ● If you would like more information about these standards, you may review K-12 Louisiana Student Standards for Math on the Louisiana Department of Education website.
Math Placement Testing Students should bring two sharpened pencils with good erasers. All other items necessary to complete the test (calculators, rulers, protractors, scratch paper, etc. ) will be provided.
Summer Blitz ● As an initiative to increase student performance and orient incoming 6 th grade students to middle school life, Glasgow Middle School will offer a summer blitz program. ● This program is designed to acquaint our new 6 th graders with the daily procedures and expectations of a Glasgow Gator. Students in other grades who are new to Glasgow are also welcome to attend!
Summer Blitz ● Activities have been designed to concentrate on English Language Arts and Mathematics as well as our PBIS (positive behavioral interventions and supports) program and campus layout. ● There are 100 spots available for our incoming 6 th grade students, and entry to the program is on a first come, first served basis.
Summer Blitz ● The Blitz Program will run from June 7 th - June 24 th (Monday through Thursday) and will last from 8 A. M. - 12 P. M. each day. ● This program is free of charge. ● Breakfast and lunch will be served daily.
Summer Blitz ● Students will need to purchase a Glasgow Middle Summer Blitz t-shirt for $10. 00. This shirt may also be worn as a uniform shirt during the school year. ● Over the course of the program, students will also attend a field trip. Parents are responsible for payment of field trip costs if applicable.
Summer Blitz After care will be provided from 12 P. M. – 4 P. M. each day. ● The cost for this service is $100 per week. ● Parents who enroll in after care prior to May 15, 2021 will receive a 50% discount.

Aftercare ● ● ● Until 6 PM Registration Fee: $50 (one time fee for 2021 -2022 school year) Rate: $50 per week Late Fee: $1 per minute for every minute late beginning at 6: 00 PM. Multiple sibling discounts are available.
Dress Code ● Navy blue 3 button collared shirt with NO logo ● Medium khaki pants, shorts, skirts (NO jeans, jumpers, biking shorts, tight fitting/stretch/skinny pants, sweat pants, wind suits, large pocket/cargo pants, flair pants, overalls, cutoffs, or camouflage)
Dress Code ● Students may wear SOLID navy blue or black jackets and sweatshirts. Glasgow outerwear purchased on campus is also acceptable. ● Lace up tennis shoes only (closed toes and closed backs). ● Only clear or mesh backpacks are allowed on campus.

School Fees
Summer Reading ● Students should read three Accelerated Reader books over the summer break. ● There is not a specific reading list--students may read three books of their choice. However, we will provide a suggested list of books for students who may have difficulty choosing their books. ● Students will take Accelerated Reader tests on the books they read when they come to school in the fall. These tests will count for a grade in their English class.
