Method 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Preheat oven Gas 5/190◦c. Put flour in a bowl. Add lard or margarine. Chop with a butter knife until you can’t see any fat. Then rub in with your finger tips until it looks like breadcrumbs. Add cold water with a tablespoon 1 spoon at a time and mix with a knife (count to 20 before adding more water)until smooth dough is formed. It shouldn’t be too wet. Roll out pastry and cut out 12 circles or roll 3 cm bigger than flan dish. ( roll forward back and then turn pastry, continue this until pastry big enough) Lightly flour flan dish or buntray and then place pastry inside. Add ½ tsp jam to each pastry circle. Cream margarine, sugar, flour, eggs and almond essence until smooth. Spoon over jam Bake in oven for approx. 20 -30 mins until golden and firm to touch. Ingredients Pastry: 150 g SR flour 75 g lard or margarine Filling: 2 tbsp jam 50 g margarine 50 g sugar 1 egg 50 g SR flour Few drops almond essence)
