Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines, 6. And often is his gold complexion dimm'd; 7. And every fair from fair sometime declines 8. By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd: 9. What time of year is it? What does this time of year symbolize? Quartet 2 (lines 5 -8): What image does he describe here? What truth about life is revealed from “every fair from fair sometime declines” (7)? Quartet 3 (lines 9 -12): What is the speaker saying about the listener’s “eternal summer (9)”? Rhyming Couplet (lines 13 -14): What is “this” (14)? And how can “this” give eternal life to the listener?
