To search our electronic card catalog and see if the library has a book you need, double click on this icon (symbol).

The features on this screen are. . .

The “Search for” box. This is where you type in the word, title, author , or topic you are searching for.

The “selection” buttons. These buttons allow you to select the type of search you are wanting to make. Do you want to search by key word, by title of the book, by author of the book, or by books that contain a certain subject (or topic)?

This program has a “Help” feature that will help guide you through whatever task you are performing. Using the “F 1 -Help” button.

This button will clear out whatever you have in the “search for” box. . Using the “Clear” button.

You can look through (or "browse") the list of words that the program will recognize for each type of search: You will get a different list of words for key words, titles, authors and subjects, . Browsing helps if you don't know a word's spelling, or if you want to see other words that would serve as good search items. Using the “Browse” button.

This should be self explanatory. Once you have entered the words you want to search in the “Search for” box and you have selected the type of search you want to make you just click on this button OR hit “enter” on the keyboard and your search will be made. Using the “Search” button
