To Kill a Mockingbird Part 1 Review
Groups of 4 -5! – You have two minutes to get into a group of 4 -5! – Come up with a team name, and write it on the piece of paper
Rules – We will review 20 questions that may or may not appear on the Part 1 Exam. – Each answer your group gets correct will give you one point. – Once you think you have the answer, one group member will stand up. Everyone must stand at least once. – Whoever I see stand first, I will call on. – Each incorrect answer will deduct a point from the group.
Rules Contd. – You should talk through the answer- do not just jump up and guess. You risk losing a point. – NO ARGUING WITH YOUR CLASSMATES, AND ABOVE ALL, NO ARGUING WITH ME! – Should any groups break these rules, disqualification my occur.
The Incentive – The wining group will be rewarded by having any needed participation points for the months of November and December awarded to them; however, everyone in the group must participate.
Part 1: Multiple Choice The test will contain 20 multiple choice questions. We will look at 10 that may or may not appear on the test. = 20 points on the test
Q 1. What was the Boo Radley game? A: Reenacting Boo Radley stories, such as the time he allegedly stabbed his dad in the leg with a pair of scissors.
Q 2: Describe the setting of TKM, including the decade. A: 1930’s Maycomb, Alabama
Q 3: After Miss Caroline tells her she cannot read anymore, what piece of wisdom does Atticus share with Scout? A: You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view.
Q 4: Why does Atticus say the Ewells don’t have to go to school? A: The authorities bend the rules for them because of their home-life.
Q 5: What does Miss Maudie think of the Radley’s? A: They are strange folk, but they have a right to their privacy. She does not criticize them or talk poorly about them, unlike Miss Stephanie and many other characters.
Q 6: What happens to Jem’s pants that indicate to the children someone might be watching them? A: Jem finds them mended and neatly folded after he had ripped them trying to climb under a fence.
