To Kill A Mockingbird Part 1 Found Poetry Due Thursday
Step 1: The luck of the draw! You will be assigned a character.
Step 2: Using Post-it-Notes Go through Chapters 1 -11 and find • Descriptions of the character • Words spoken by the character • Words or passages spoken ABOUT the character Must have at LEAST ten different “passages. ”
Step 3: Put it on paper • Take each passage and write it out on a piece of paper. • Number each passage. • Put spaces between the words and skip lines between (double space)

Step 4: Cut it up! • Take your written passages and cut out the words. • If you really like certain phrases and think that they should stay together – you can keep those together. d Rea Aub s Mis lin Caro e urn hai r had
Step 5: Put it back together! • Take the pieces of paper and arrange them into a “poem” about your character. YOU MUST ONLY USE THE WORDS YOU CUT OUT! • You may use the character’s name only as the title. • You must have at least 10 lines and 2 rhymes • The poem MUST be about your character! • When you have created your poem – glue the words onto a sheet of colored paper.
