Pink Team Purpose To play an effective role in the proposal process, the pink team must accomplish the following: Validate the proposal strategy (technical, management, and cost) Validate all win themes Verify that each proposal section will support the proposal strategy and effectively use the approved win themes Perform a down select of resumes and past performance that support the proposal strategy/win themes Provide the proposal team direction and guidance based on knowledge of the customer, the team, technology, and industry best practices.
Pink Team Process and Products Each reviewer will bear primary responsibility for one section of the proposal and secondary responsibility for a second Review with the goal of completing each of the five accomplishments on the preceding slide for your primary section first The final results of the pink team must be collected by the team leader, consolidated, and a consensus reached. This includes consolidating: Pink Team Critique Sheets for each reviewed section All marked up review copies Any other reviewer notes and comments
Guidelines for Useful Comments Do: Don’t: § Review assigned sections with the purpose and needs of the customer—not yours—in mind § Edit a document for grammar or mechanics (leave that for the editor) § Evaluate the content, messages, and effectiveness of both text and visuals § Criticize writing style (look for accuracy of content) § Consult with other technical experts if you need further information § Comment on information outside your area of expertise § Support other reviews who need your expertise § Rework page layouts § Give specific suggestions to authors regarding how to present both text and graphics § Redesign formats § Revise information simply so that it sounds better to you; focus instead on substantive content § Make vague, unclear comments like: “This section stinks, ” “This is incorrect, ” or “Rewrite this. ” Give specific suggestions to improve the section. § Meet the deadlines you have been given § Discuss your comments with the writer (one-on-one) after the review to explain your recommendations § DOCUMENT YOUR FINDINGS using comment forms to communicate with authors and proposal management
