SEXUAL DISCRIMINATION: SEXUAL MISCONDUCT: If someone treats you differently based on any of the following factors, that may constitute sexual discrimination, and can be reported to the Title IX Office: The following are types of sexual misconduct that can be reported to the Title IX Office: • SEX • STALKING (THIS ALSO INCLUDES CYBERSTALKING) • SEXUAL ORIENTATION • INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE • GENDER • SEXUAL EXPLOITATION • GENDER IDENTITY/ GENDER • SEXUAL HARASSMENT EXPRESSION • PREGNANCY/ PARENTING STATUS • SEXUAL ASSAULT • UNWANTED TOUCHING • RAPE

AMNESTY FOR SEXUAL MISCONDUCT REPORTS Amnesty for Sexual Misconduct Reports: “A bystander reporting in good faith or an alleged victim reporting sexual misconduct to University officials or law enforcement will not be subject to campus conduct action for violations of alcohol and/or drug policies occurring at or near the time of the sexual misconduct. ” (Sexual Misconduct Policy 713590)

Retaliation: Any adverse action or threat taken against an individual for filing a complaint

Retaliation: Any adverse action or threat taken against an individual for filing a complaint of sexual misconduct, serving as a witness, or for participating in the investigation or resolution process. USM prohibits any form of retaliation. This means that individuals who participate in the investigative process have protections in place to prevent and/or stop any type of retaliation.
