Recent Tickets: How to Access Query Studio • In CU Data, you will need to use either Firefox or Internet Explorer to access Query Studio. In the bottom left corner, click on the New icon: • In the menu that opens, click "Other. " • A new menu will open at the top left. This menu shows the older studios, including Query Studio. If you click on Query Studio here, you will be able to select a package and build a new report.

Failed Reports: Unable to Authenticate Error Details: CM-REQ-4159 Content Manager returned an error in the response header. The error "cm. Authenticate. Failed CM-CAM -4005 Unable to authenticate. Check your security directory server connection and confirm the credentials entered at login. " can be found in the response SOAP header. CM-REQ-4342 An error occurred with the client. Solution: renew credentials Be sure to type in user name and PW values rather than copy/pasting
Failed Reports: Missing Parameter Values Error Details: XQE-QRY-0404 There are parameters or variables that require values. CAFWRN-2082 An error has occurred. Please contact your administrator. The complete error has been logged by CAF with Secure. Error. ID: 2020 -02 -2508: 00: 06. 336 -#753 Solution: Update schedule and add values for required parameters
Failed Reports: Database is Down Error Details: XQE-DAT-0001 Data source adapter error: java. sql. SQLSyntax. Error. Exception: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges Solution: Contact Functional Area lead to determine if data is ready if you do not receive database alerts. Alternately, re-run later. Note: errors starting with “ORA” are Oracle errors, meaning an error against the database, rather than within Cognos.
Tips & Tricks: Visual Aids When editing a report in Reporting, select Settings (the gear icon) report toolbar and mouse over Visual aids. Then select which items to show/hide. I prefer to turn OFF Show Repeating and turn ON Show Hidden Objects.
Tips & Tricks: New Query Options Within Reporting, navigate to Report > Queries. There is a new option next to the Settings icon in the upper right called “All Queries. ” Turning on Projected queries will show which queries in the report link to each reporting object: Show data sources will display the data source for each query: Expand references will show the queries behind joins/unions:
Tips & Tricks: Run Options When editing a report in Reporting, select Run Report from the top Toolbar and click on Show run options: Setting the rows per page in the properties of a list or crosstab will control how many rows appear in all outputs, which can result in MANY tabs when run to excel. Setting this property controls how many rows appear in HTML output for this session and will allow rows per object in Excel to run to default (65 k) before breaking pages.
Tips & Tricks: Group Repeating Cells While adding grouping to a report may increase the readability of the data in HTML output, it can be frustrating in Excel output if users want to filter values. In Reporting, click on Report. Show Properties. Set Group repeating cells- export to Excel to No
