中秋節的小故事 嫦娥奔月 (siông-ngôo phun gua t) 嫦娥奔月Chang-E Flew to the Moon 相傳遠古時，大地有十個太陽，燒得草木，莊稼枯焦， According to ancient legend, once there were ten suns which scorched and charred the trees, grass and crops all over the earth. 后羿善於射箭，為了救百姓，一連射下九個太陽， To save the people, Hou Yi, the skilled archer, shot down nine of the ten suns in one succession. 從此地上氣候適宜，萬物得以生長。 From then on, the earth had suitable climate for plants to grow. 他又射殺猛獸毒蛇，為民除害。 Hou Yi also shot and killed vicious beasts and vipers which are harmful to people. 民間因而奉他為「皇帝」。 Because of these heroic acts, people made him the emperor. 嫦娥美貌非凡嫁給了后羿。 Chang-E, an extraordinary beautiful maiden, married Hou Yi and became the queen. 后羿從西王母處請來不死之藥， One day Hou Yi begged a goddess for an elixir of everlasting life. 卻不再為老百姓著想， However, once he obtained the elixir, Hou Yi no longer care about the well being of the people. 嫦娥偷吃了這顆靈藥，成仙了， To save people from Hou Yi’s selfish rule, Chang-E stole and ate the magical elixir. Once eaten, she became an immortal being. 身不由主飄飄然地飛往月宮之中，成了月神娘娘。 Unable to control her body, Chang-E floated to the moon. 嫦娥奔月的當天據說就是八月十五日 According to legend, Chang-E flew to the moon on August 15 th. 於是後人就在每年的八月十五日祭月。 From then on, people commemorate Chang-E’s selfless action on this day.
