TIME TRAVEL. Time Travel Machines.

Man has often wanted to travel through time: back in to the past or ahead, in to the future. Books, television programmes and films have been made about this subject, as it continues to fascinate people. What would you do if you had a time machine? Would you revisit your past, go to a time before you were born or see what lies in the future?

For today’s lesson, we would like you to complete a little research on time travelling machines that appear in books, television and film. You could have a look at the Tardis, from the television programme, ‘Dr. Who’; the De. Lorean from the film, ‘Back to the Future’; the phone box from the film, ‘Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure’, or the time machine from the classic novel, ‘The Time Machine’ by H. G Wells. What do they look like? How do they work? How are they different from each other? Do they have anything in common?

TODAY’S TASK. We would like you to search the internet and find information and pictures of the time machines named on the previous slide. After that, we would like to choose one of the machines that most interests you. Next, we would like you to draw the machine and, either, annotate it with any information that you have found out about it, or write a paragraph about the most interesting things you have learnt about it. Explain why you chose this particular machine. Finally, colour, paint or collage your design.
