BALANCING PARTS OF YOUR LIFE Which roles are important to me? How much control do I have over the balls? Do I want to drop some balls temporarily or permanently? Do I need to learn new skills? Which? Do I need to make some lifestyle changes?

YOUR VISION Is the way you spend your time consistent with your values? Close your eyes and picture yourself once you have finished your studies. Use that vision to write down 2 clear goals you want to achieve from this degree.
Procrastination……A road block to good time management
Why? Overwhelmed avoidance break it down tackle things one step at a time choose where to start – hardest or easiest? rewards
Why? Perfectionism acknowledge the fear visualise it embrace good enough
Why? Shiny object syndrome set up your workspace use headphones switch off phones regular breaks
MANAGING PROCRASTINATION Catch yourself in a procrastinating activity… Stop and check on your behaviour… Think of the consequences… Make decision to continue or change behaviour…
SESSION PLANNERS Add all work to be done for the semester. Attempt to complete work before the due date – it allows you to review your work. Keep semester planner in a visible place.
AUTUMN SESSION PLANNER
Using the weekly timetable work out what commitments you already have…. and… Which ones are you prepared to temporarily or permanently drop? Allocate ‘own study’ blocks of time.
