Time Management Lecture 2 “Balancing Your Time”
College students need to continually balance 3 main areas in their lives: SCHOOL WORK PERSONAL includes hours in class plus any outside study time plus commuting time to get to class includes both a paid job (with commute time) plus any work done at home to meet family needs also known as “leisure” time… includes socializing, watching movies or TV, phone chatting, etc.
The Pie of Life WORK SCHOOL PERSONAL • Your pie of life will probably NOT be divided into equal parts. • Everyone’s pie will be sliced differently depending on individual goals, needs, and interests.
*While your pie may not be in equal parts, you can tell if it is within a balanced range… If you feel good about yourself, have confidence, feel challenged, satisfied, fulfilled, happy, & in control…your pie is probably in balance for you! If you often deal with bouts of negative feelings, depression, & have a lot of resentments…areas of your life may need to be reexamined and rebalanced.
