Tigers are about 1 metre high and can be almost 3 metres long!

Diet Tigers mainly eat deer, wild pigs, water buffalo and antelope. They also sometimes eat sloth bears, dogs, leopards, crocodiles, pythons, monkeys and hares.

Population 100 years ago there were around 100, 000 tigers in the wild. Today there are only about 3, 000 -4, 500 tigers.

Endangered Tigers are an endangered species which means they are at risk of becoming extinct. They are illegally killed by humans because their skins are valuable, and also because their body parts are used in some Asian medicines.

Where are tigers found? Tigers are found in South and Southeast Asia, China and the Russian Far East.

Behaviour Tigers are mostly nocturnal and they use their stripes for camouflage to help them hunt. They are predators which means they prey on other animals for food. Tigers are also very good swimmers!

Baby tigers are called tigers cubs. Baby tigers Tiger cubs live with their mother until they are about 2 years old, then they leave to live alone. Mother tigers usually have 3 -4 cubs in each litter.
