International Certifications in Emergency Management § Looking throughout different certification schemes worldwide, we have found NONE which goes through an official internationally recognized accreditation for certification § They simply ”go through a generic and general Endorsement from parts of the international community” § TIEMS plans to go throughout an official accreditation path for TIEMS TQC Certification. In fact, internationally recognized accreditation for certification can be given only against a specific standard. It is never a generic label. This will make TQC unique! § TIEMS have therefore started collecting information about “Any international recognized standard and best practice against which the TIEMS Certification Body - both TQC Compliance and TQC Examination Section – will do their evaluation of the Applicant” 2

TQC GENERAL STATEMET § TQC Certification is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated their knowledge and experience in Risk Management/Emergency Management/Disaster Response, as assured by the TIEMS Certification Body/TQC Compliance by doing Applicant Documentation Compliance activity § Basic requirements are passing the examination of TIEMS Certification Body/TQC Examination, based on International Standards and Best Practices § Prerequisite to apply for TQC Certification is to posses at least five years of significant, practical, community wide experience in Risk Management/Emergency Management/Disaster Response 3
