Reading • Good readers retell stories from beginning, middle, to end. • We will be doing an author’s study on Jan Brett this week. • Mini-Lesson: Today we will read Trouble with Trolls by Jan Brett and think about the events from the story. What happens in the beginning, middle, and end of the story? • Task: Complete the cut and glue sequencing activity. Teaching Point: I can retell a story from beginning, middle, to end.

Grammar Teaching Point: I can use an apostrophe to form a possessive noun. • Mini-Lesson: This week we have been learning about how to identify root words. We will practice together by completing the handout, “Some Snow to Throw”. • We have also learned in quarter 2 that we can use apostrophes in possessive nouns to show that something belongs to someone or something. Let’s review together by completing the Christmas possessive nouns handout.
