Biography -Thomas was born in 1650 Shilstone, Modbury, Devon, England he died in 1715 London. - Savery was a military engineer. -Thomas is famous for his invention of the first commercially used steam powered engine. -He was an english inventor and engineer.
-He became a military captain by 1702. -He spent his free time performing experiments in machines. - He used to get together with someone to combine ideas and perform better invention. - He worked for Sick and Hurt Commissioners also known as Sick and Hurts Board.
-On - July 2, 1698 Savery patented an early steam engine. He demonstrated it to the Royal Society on June 1699. - He was well educated. -He also invented an odometer to measure the distances traveled by ships
Thomas Savery Resume - His 2 main inventions were the paddlewheel and steam engine - His invention of the paddle wheel was not approved by the Navy. - He also constructed a clock, which still remains in the family and its considered an ingenious piece of mechanism.
Inventions - He invented and patented an arrangement of paddlewheels. - - This invention was created because they wanted to sell their idea to British and Navy Board. - This invention never got approved by the Navy.
Steam Engine - The Steam Engine was create in 1698. -His words provided an “ Engine to raise water by fire” -The Steam Engine could of rise water up about 35 feet. - He did it mostly to help the miners. - It was a machine that was created to get water from underground.
If Thomas Savery would of be alive? - If Savery would of be alive he would of be working on machines for ships. - I think he would of live in London.
