FOCUS OF OUR PROGRAM � How can Distance Education benefit students who struggle in Math and Reading over the 8 weeks of summer when they are not in school?
TECHNOLOGY SUMMER CAMP � Students from three elementary schools are chosen to participate in an 8 week online program designed to improve math and reading skills. The 8 week program would take place over summer break and could be completed entirely online.
WHO WOULD PARTICIPATE? � Broadneck Elementary School Fourth grade MSA Scores for 2011: Reading: Basic – 5. 5%, Proficient – 40. 4%, Advanced – 54. 1% Mathematics: Basic – less than 5%, Proficient – 20. 2%, Advanced – 78. 9% � Rippling Woods Elementary School Fourth grade MSA Scores for 2011: Reading: Basic – 11. 9%, Proficient – 56. 4%, Advanced – 31. 7% Mathematics: Basic – 14. 9%, Proficient – 32. 7%, Advanced – 52. 5% � Maryland City Elementary School Fourth grade MSA Scores for 2011: Reading: Basic – 8. 7% Proficient – 69. 6% Advanced – 21. 7% Mathematics: Basic – 21. 3% Proficient – 42. 06% Advanced – 36. 2%
