Program Self-Evaluation (PSE) (2) California Code of Regulations, Title 5 (5 CCR) 18279 1. Use the program review instrument to assess your program 2. Identify the areas where you have effective practices 3. Identify where your practices need improvement 4. Develop an improvement plan that addresses those areas in your summary 5. Staff and board participation 6
Program Self-Evaluation (PSE) (3) The annual plan must include a self-evaluation based on the use of the: • Program Review Instrument (PRI) • The applicable Parent Survey Direct Service Contractors • Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) • Environment Rating Scale (ERS) 7
PSE Changes for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020– 21 • A multiple-choice question survey will replace the form ELCD 4000 for FY 20– 21 • Contractors are to submit only one (1) survey per contractor • The requirement for the ERS assessment has not changed, however we have added flexibility for the use of the tool during the pandemic. The Environment Self-Certification During Pandemic Conditions Questionnaire may be completed this fiscal year only in lieu of the Age-Appropriate Environment Rating Scale 8

Classroom/Home Summary of Findings – DRDP EESD Form 3900 Desired Results Developmental Profile for The Classroom and Family Child Care Home Level • Summarize and review the results of the DRDPs • Identify trends or patterns in the children's development • Develop goals and expected completion dates 13
Agency Summary of Findings – DRDP EESD Form 4004 Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) • Determine key findings • Compile the information from all of the individual classroom(s) or family child-care home(s) DRDPs • Define at least one goal at the domain level to address important issues regarding the educational needs of children 14
Summary of Findings – Environment Rating Scale EESD Form 4002 Environment Rating Scales • Enter key findings from the Environment Rating Subscales • Action plan to improve subscales scoring below a five (5) • Optional if completing the Environment Self-Certification 15
Environment Self-Certification During Pandemic Conditions • For FY 2020– 21 programs that are open, in part or in whole, must complete the Environment Self-Certification During Pandemic Conditions Questionnaire in lieu of completing an ERS as a part of the self-evaluation process. • Five (5) open ended questions to describe the environment modifications made due to public health requirements. • Minimum of one (1) per direct service contract type held. 16

PSE Submission Requirements • Contractors are required to submit the PSE Form 4000 M (Survey) to the CDE on or before Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 5: 00 p. m. • Contractors must submit the survey electronically to ELCD. • All other required documentation completed as part of the PSE process must be kept on-site and available for review upon request 20
