What is the role of the Enhanced Staff member? Enhanced staff are employees of the early learning and care centre. Five Counties Children’s Centre is the funder. The enhanced staff joins a team to help meet specific needs in the program. The enhanced staff role is to work as a team member with the program staff to facilitate inclusion. It is the responsibility of ALL the program staff to ensure that the child’s needs are met, not just the enhanced staff. Enhanced staff will follow the policies and procedures of the program Enhanced staff take direction from the program supervisor.

The enhanced staff is not an employee of Five Counties Children’s Centre or the City of Peterborough The enhanced staff is not part of the room ratio and must not be used to cover breaks or other ratio expectations. The enhanced staff is not intended to work in a 1: 1 ratio, unless this has been clearly identified as a need, like in the event of a medical circumstance.
