Without Jesus, we cannot become followers of the Way.

And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 6

IF you ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods to serve them and bow in worship to them, I testify against you today that you will perish. Deuteronomy 8: 19 (CSB)

“IF you carefully obey my commands I am giving you today, to love the LORD your God and worship him with all your heart and all your soul, Deuteronomy 11: 13 (CSB)

…give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build, 11 houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, hewn-out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant-- Deuteronomy 6: 10 -11 (NKJV)

The Way was always to be a way of life. Not just something you did every now and then when it is convenient. Love is not an event!

He wants our love to be a choice! He wants our love to lead to commitment!
