Challenges § Staff roles changing § Staff’s view that individuals would ‘miss local service or needed to start their day from local service’ § Individuals missing the local service, seeing their friends, hearing the news!! § HIQA – change of focus for community houses to play an active role in the development of the Individuals person centred supported plan.

Overcoming the Challenges • Staff benefit from changing shifts – work life balance • Individuals supported to meeting their friends in different ways and at different times • Individuals were sharing different / more varied news in the evenings • Redefined our Individualised Planning Process with clear roles and responsibilities for all stakeholders.

Service Users opinion “I am a very busy man…I am meeting a lot more people than before. I love going to the Social Club in Sallins. There are so many women there that love me! back to I have a very busy week. I have great support from TLAP staff. I can now travel independently on the bus to Kildare for my course. I travel independently to Newbridge and my family home in Rathangan. You will never guess where I could be… You have to phone me if you need me. Leave a message and I’ll get you…. "

Service Users opinion “It’s nice to stay in the house in the morning. I like to start the day in my own time and I love my morning routine. “I love having my own space in my apartment and staff support me to do the things in the community that I like to do; Aqua Aerobics, Bowling, Cinema, Swimming and my Voluntary Work”.
