Okonkwo was well known throughout the nine villages. �His fame rested on solid personal achievements. �As a young man of eighteen he had brought honor to his village by throwing Amalinze the cat. �Amalinze was a wily craftsman, but Okonkwo was a slippery as a fish.
Unoka during his life: �Unoka was, of course, a debtor, and he owed every neighbor some money, from a few cowries to quite substantial amounts.
Happening in the Village �The Oracle was called Agbala, and people came from far and near to consult. �Worshippers and those who came to seek knowledge from Oracle.
Things start to fall apart. �He feels bad about his death son. �His daughter dying of fever. �Chielo came out to the village. �Chielo took Ezinma back to the village.
�Okonkwo and his three wives Mbanta. �Locust kill people in Umuofia. �He stays with his uncle in Mbanta. �He spent his 7 years in Mbanta.
Missionaries brought light to Umuofia. • Every clan in Umuofia had evil forest. • Missionaries asked the for piece of land. • Evil forest was the land the gave the missionaries.
Things changes in Umuofia �Okonkwo lost against the new religion. � His son Nwoye join the missionaries. �They put men in prison. �Ogbuefi Ugonna cut his anklet and join the Christians. �Court in Umuofia. �Prison in Umuofia “ Kotma” � Men and sons have join the Christians.
� Women who had gone for earth returned with empty. � Young men chased them away from the stream with whips. � The white-men built a school and hospital in umuofia. � Nwoye’s new name is Isaac, and he was sent to umuru. . .
Returning to Umuofia. �Okonkwo made feast to his mother’s kinsmen before he go back to umuofia.
� His mother’s kinsmen thank him. � He has a child. � Big rain were falling. � The christians had grown up in number. � The village belongs to the white men.
