There’s Only One! Text: Ephesians 4: 1 -6 The Bible calls us to be united! Psalm 133: 1 -3; Amos 3: 3; John 17: 17 -23 Unity comes when we unite behind what God has said (I Cor. 1: 10). Ephesians 4: 3 – how is this possible? By respecting what is said in Ephesians 4: 4 -6, the “platform for Bible unity”!

There’s Only One! One Body – Unity In Relationship All who are Christians are brothers and sisters. Matthew 12: 47 -50; Romans 8: 16 -17 We are brothers and sisters because we have the same Father (II Jn. 9)! • We are born into the same family (Jn. 3: 3 -5). • We are added to the same church(Acts 2: 47). There is religious division when we do not belong to the same family!

There’s Only One! One Spirit – Unity In Message The things taught in the Bible came from the Holy Spirit (II Pet. 1: 20 -21; II Tim. 3: 16 -17). How does the unity of the message contribute to unity? Fighting ceases when we listen to the Holy Spirit! Some examples … • Baptism (Acts 22: 16; I Pet. 3: 21) • Church (Matt. 16: 18; Eph. 1: 19 -23) • Worship (Acts 2: 42, 20: 7; I Cor. 16: 1 -2)

There’s Only One! One Hope – Unity In Aim/Purpose What is our goal? Heaven!! Our minds should be set for reaching there (Col. 3: 1 -2)! • We sing about it! • We need to act on our goals! I Peter 2: 11 – strangers/sojourners Philippians 3: 13 -14

There’s Only One! One Lord – Unity In Authority Matthew 28: 18 Lord = supreme in authority, controller Matthew 7: 21 -23; Luke 6: 46 Matthew 7: 28 -29 We don’t control ourselves (I Tim. 6: 15; Jer. 10: 23)! We have unity when we submit to the same Lord!

There’s Only One! One Faith – Unity In Doctrine Jude 3; I Corinthians 16: 13 One Faith = The Gospel! • Galatians 1: 6 -12 • II John 9 -11 • Romans 1: 16 -17 The faith is our standard for unity! We are united based upon what it says!

There’s Only One! One Baptism – Unity In Entrance Requirements In order to have everything we have studied thus far, we must be baptized! • Mark 16: 15 -16 • Acts 2: 38, 8: 5, 12, 36 -38, 9: 18, 22: 16, etc. • Romans 6: 16 -18 All who follow are in His body, those who don’t, aren’t!

There’s Only One! One God – Unity In Worship John 4: 24 Since God has told us how to worship, when we do this, we have unity in our worship. We do things God’s way • Because of who He is (Gen. 1 -2). • Because of what He has done for us (Rom. 5: 6 -8).

“What Must I Do To Be Saved? ” Hear The Gospel (Rom. 10: 17) Believe In Christ (Jn. 8: 24) Repent Of Sins (Lk. 13: 3) Confess Christ (Rom. 10: 10) Be Baptized (I Pet. 3: 21) For The Erring Child: Repent (Acts 8: 22), Confess (I Jn. 1: 9), Pray (Acts 8: 22)
