Introduction Sport has a great global meaning. It unites people, brings them together, sometimes influences on politics and economics. Soon, in 2014, there will be Olympic games in Sochi. We’re so proud of our country, because it’s very prestigious and honored. We’d like to tell you exiting history of Olympic games.

The present-day Olympic Games continue the tradition of sport competitions in Old Greece at about 2000 years ago. These games were dedicated to the Greek god Zees. They regularly took place in Olympia in 776 -393 before century. Young French aristocrat Pierre de Coubertin regenerated Olympic games. The first present-day Olympic game took place in Athens in 1896. Since that time they were conducted once in four year. The Olympic games are divided into Winter and Summer Games. The emblem - 5 crossing rings – presents the nations of 5 continents. There is also an Olympic fire, which is being delivered to the opening of the Olympiad from Olympia.

Olympic Games in Moscow 1980 First Olympiad in Russia took place in 1980, in Moscow. That was a great honor for the USSR. These Olympic Games were unforgettable. That was the 1 -st time, when in USSR came so much people from many countries. The symbol of the Olympiad was an Olympic bear, which became loved all over the world. Nobody will forget the end of the Olympiad, when a huge ballooned bear flew in the sky. These Games united all the nations and brought peace in the world.

Olympic Games in Beijing 2008 year is an Olympic year, that’s why we have chosen this theme. It’s going to be in Beijing, China. Chinese have prepared for the Olympiad very long and responsibly. They have built many ultramodern Olympic buildings. They have also planned many surprises for the opening of the Olympiad. Chinese want to make original and unforgettable show. The emblem of the games is 5 funny pandas, which is also original. Chinese are learning English and waiting for the guests. Well, we’ll see, how they have prepared for the Olympiad.

Sochi 2014 In summer 2007 we were all happy and proud, because our Sochi was chosen for the Olympic games. On the presentation of Sochi our president made a speech, that’s why Sochi was chosen for holding Olympiad in 2014. Now we can hear in the news information about preparation for these games. Sochi will soon be developed. We’re also training young sportsmen. We’re really looking forward to this Olympiad.
