Class Overview Creating original theatre work by identifying and developing creative ideas and working collaboratively to prepare and rehearse a performance. Performing in rehearsals and staged work using a variety of techniques used by actors. Responding to theatrical work and interpreting how personal values can influence how someone experiences a performance. Connecting theatrical work to global and community issues and relate the importance of the work to a time period
Why study theatre? (for non-“theatre people”) Studying theatre is an opportunity to…. ● Practice creativity ● Practice skills that you are learning in other classes (theatre combines every subject) ● Build career skills like teamwork, listening, cooperation, and confidence when public speaking ● Explore problems and solutions in creative ways
