Doping – what is it? Doping in sport is used to refer to an illegal and artificial way to improve sport results. It is when sportsman take not allowed in sport drugs. These include anabolic steroids and hormones such as EPO. Blood transfusion is also classed as doping as it enhances erythrocytes in the blood, which increases the oxygen levels. The only acceptable form of doping is cheering supporters.

World Anti-Doping Code On 5 th of March 5, 2003 in Copenhagen at the World Conference on Doping the World Anti-Doping Code was accepted. The Code is a document aiming to standardize anti-doping regulations in all sports and countries. It embodies an annual list of prohibited substances and methods that sports persons are not allowed to take or use. The acceptance of this Code by the Olympic Committees of the countries taking part was a condition of their admittance for the Olympic Games in Athens. For the first time in the history we had standardized anti-doping policies of all countries in all fields of sport.
