WELCOME TO OUR WEDNESDAY EVENING SERVICE. This Power. Point presentation will give you all you need to celebrate at home this service. If we remain in Christ and his words remain in us: All we can ask whatever we wish and it will be done for us.

Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit: All Blessed be God for ever!

That this evening may be holy, good and peaceful, let us pray with one heart and mind.

All As our evening prayer rises before you, O God, so may your mercy come down upon us, to cleanse our hearts and set us free to sing your praise, now and for ever. Amen.

THE WORD OF GOD A light on our path

PSALM (Good News Version) Psalm 76

God is known in Judah; his name is honoured in Israel. 2 He has his home in Jerusalem; he lives on Mount Zion.

There he broke the arrows of the enemy, their shields and swords, yes, all their weapons. 4 How glorious you are, O God! How majestic, as you return from the mountains where you defeated your foes. 3

Their brave soldiers have been stripped of all they had and now are sleeping the sleep of death; all their strength and skill was useless. 6 When you threatened them, O God of Jacob, the horses and their riders fell dead. 5

But you, LORD, are feared by all. No one can stand in your presence when you are angry. 7

8 You made your judgment known from heaven; the world was afraid and kept silent, 9 when you rose up to pronounce judgment, to save all the oppressed on earth.

Human anger only results in more praise for you; those who survive the wars will keep your festivals. 10

Give the LORD your God what you promised him; bring gifts to him, all you nearby nations. 11

God makes everyone fear him. 12 he humbles proud princes and terrifies great kings.

Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen. Or: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.

Majestic and gracious God, more awesome than the agents of war, more powerful than the wrath of nations, restrain the violence of the peoples and draw the despised of the earth into the joyful life of your kingdom, where you live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.

For those who don’t know your Word yet or refuse it, that they may open their hearts to your salvation by faith in your Son.

All Lord God, you open to us the Scriptures in your Church, and you make yourself known through them. Abide with us, we pray, that, blessed by your royal presence, we may walk with you all the days of our life, and at its end adore you in your glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER As our Saviour taught us, so we pray with confidence:
