THE VOICE OF ENCOURAGEMENT GET WELL THERAPY Inspired by Clair Bradshaw, R. N. Prepared by Thuy Nguyen
GET WELL THERAPY You are sick as a whole person: body, soul, and spirit. And how every part of you is functioning effects your illness.
GET WELL THERAPY When you are unwell, you need to foster a positive attitude, give yourself encouragement, and tap into the spiritual and psychological strength.
GET WELL THERAPY Accept the uncertainty of your recovery. Do not mind the twist and turn of the healing journey. GOD’s is your ultimate Healer.
GET WELL THERAPY Write down your fears and send to GOD. Trust that He has had a plan for your recovery.
GET WELL THERAPY Having courage doesn’t mean that you are without fear. It means you choose to act upon life in spite of fears.
GET WELL THERAPY Though you can’t choose your circumstances, you can choose how to react to those.
GET WELL THERAPY Don’t try to race ahead to where you think you should be. Listen to your body with compassion and respect. Let it tells you what it needs to heal.
GET WELL THERAPY Remember that you are the expert about your body and what you are able to do.
GET WELL THERAPY You are NOT the victim of your illness. Accept the role of victor or conqueror.
GET WELL THERAPY Trust your inner voice. The GREAT HEALER will talk to you about your body, emotions, spirit, and will.
GET WELL THERAPY Be still and know that HE is GOD.
GET WELL THERAPY Sadness and depression may be your visitors once in a while, and that’s normal. Face your losses and grieve them, then move on.
GET WELL THERAPY It’s ok to be angry. Anger can be powerfully channeled to proper motivation for recovery.
GET WELL THERAPY Fear of and resistance to pain can increase the pain level. There are several effective pain management techniques such as visualization, progressive relaxation, biofeedback, and therapeutic massage.
GET WELL THERAPY Your spirit can be your greatest recovery tool while traditional medicine doesn’t have all the answers.
GET WELL THERAPY Maximize your time even the sleepless time to do what you always want to do for yourself. Pray for those in need.
GET WELL THERAPY Don’t hesitate to ask for help when you need. People feel blessed by helping you now.
GET WELL THERAPY Remember that you are an expert about your need. Ask and you shall receive.
GET WELL THERAPY Be thankful for the help you get, and forgiving to those who are not able to support you during this time.
GET WELL THERAPY Redefine “wellness” according to you. Work on accepting things you can’t change. We are all differently abled.
GET WELL THERAPY Think of the health changes as opportunities for new solutions in life. Lost abilities may lead to hidden potentials you didn’t know you have before.
GET WELL THERAPY There are helps out there for your limited physical strength. Be creative and enthusiastic to utilize those services.
GET WELL THERAPY Be gentle with yourself if you feel frustrated about your limitations.
GET WELL THERAPY Let go of any guilt about having the unwellness. You’re responsible for only what you have power on.
GET WELL THERAPY Use your recuperation time constructively and wisely to do what you always wanted to do yet didn’t have time.
GET WELL THERAPY As the Great Physician GOD is with you throughout this time. He wants your spirit to be restored.
GET WELL THERAPY Wellness encompasses your body, soul, and spirit. Peace of mind can come in the midst of health crisis.
GET WELL THERAPY A health crisis may develop into a faith crisis. Be focused on GOD.
GET WELL THERAPY GOD doesn’t punish you with unwellness. He suffers with you during this time.
GET WELL THERAPY Having visitors is a choice, not an obligation. You don’t have to entertain well-wishers. Set your personal boundaries.
GET WELL THERAPY The health team will be more effective when they work with you rather than on you.
GET WELL THERAPY When a difficult medical decision needs to be made, pray fervently to GOD, listen to good counsels, then make a decision yourself.
GET WELL THERAPY Your identity is NOT defined by your illness. Celebrate all that you are.
GET WELL THERAPY Dialoguing with your unwellness may help you find out which areas you need to improve to live a more fulfilling life.
GET WELL THERAPY Your character can be strengthened, deepened and enriched by health changes. Search for the growth and celebrate it.
GET WELL THERAPY Don’t merely weather the health crisis but use it to reorder your priorities. Take time to love and experience small joy in daily life.
GET WELL THERAPY Let your unwellness open your heart for deep compassion for others.
GET WELL THERAPY In the midst of a health crisis, you still can enjoy a cooling breeze, a cuddling child, a care note, and a friendly smile. Rebirth is being formed in a storm.
GET WELL THERAPY Be open and compassionate to your sadness and discouragement during recovery. Pray to GOD that someday the anxiousness will be only memory.
GET WELL THERAPY The deepest fulfillment in life comes from surrendering to GOD, in Whom we always find the meaning of life.
GET WELL THERAPY Laughter is a weapon to weaken the integrity of sickness, disease, and disorder for it helps the body release endorphin, a natural tranquilizer.
GET WELL THERAPY Thank GOD for life. Each day is a gift.
GET WELL THERAPY THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE TODAY. JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO WE!
