Alexandrina Victoria • Was born in 1819 • Only child of Edward Duke of Kent and Victoria Saxe-Coburg • Father died when she was young • Came to the throne at the age of 18, in 1837 • In 1840 married Albert, Prince of Saxe. Coburg and Gotha

• The “grandmother of Europe” • Children were married to different royal houses • Withdrew from public life in 1861 • Kept control of affairs • Died in 1901, buried at Windsor • Reign lasted 63 years and 7 months
