Concerns • End strength of ~6, 300 is an operational challenge – Planned/actual accessions during FY 14 -FY 16 REDUX not sufficient to maintain long-term strength – Working with key stakeholders to address capacity limitations impacting our ability to return to strength – Sliver lining … Attrition rates are at historic lows Enlisted (8. 6%) and Officer (6. 7%) however, Active Component demand remains high • Need to find a way to get beyond the “symptoms” that affect the Reserve Component Director of Reserve and Military Personnel The U.
