THE TUDORS DYNASTY The Tudor dynasty or House of Tudor was a royal house of Welsh origin. Its first monarch was Henry VII, a descendant through his mother of a legitimised branch of the English royal House of Lancaster. The Tudor family rose to power in the wake of the Wars of the Roses, which left the House of Lancaster, to which the Tudors were aligned, extinct.

Henry VII (1485 -1509) He become king before the war of the roses. Before his arrived there is the obscure age. Strengthened the monarchy and he turned England into a modern state. He reiforcing England’s trading position and he founded the English naval power for increased spending on shipbuilding. So england had its own merchant fleet and extended its military power

Henry VIII (1509 -1547) He was the second son of Henry VII. He was very popular and he was called golden prince. He married Chaterine of Aragon who bore him a daughter: Mary I. He asked the pope to divorse to marry Anne Boleyn. For this reason he created a new religion. But the Ireland remained a catholic country (begin Irish Question). Anne Boleyn gave him Elizabeth, and For this she was murdered. Henry went to have foure more wibes and one son, Edward.

Mary I (1553 -1558) She was the daughter of Henry VIII. She don’t abandon catholic faith. She married Philip of Spain. She was called Bloody Mary because She was not interest to public opinion. Died without an hier.

Edward VI (1547 -1553) He is the son of Henry VIII and he become king at age of nine years old. He made protestant doctrine. He built schools replaced the old Latin with the book of common player.

Elizabeth I (1558 -1603) She was the daughter of Anne Boleyn. She had a strong personality and passionate character. She recived an excellent education, Infact she spoke: French, German, Spanish and Italian. She was unmarried, infact she become “Vingin Queen”, because she didn’t want to share her power with anybody. She expanded the exploration out sea. She sent pirats and become rich.

She defeated the Spanish armada. They were powerful in the world, thank the clime England win the war between Spain and England laid the basis of England Empire, caractering of seven companies. She was very strong and when she dying she didn’t want to lay down. The forhead soacious it’s a symbol of intelligent. At her die, the Tudor dynasty survived only in the female line, and the House of Stuart occupied the English throne for most of the following century.
