In the previous slide the plantings have entered stage 3 (3 years and beyond)
Prairie Development Passes through 3 Stages 1. Sleep 2. Creep 3. Leap
We started in 2016 with a grant From the City of DBQ and supporting Stonehill Townhome Community Assn. funds
We are pledged to sustainability native plants No fertilizers Limited watering Limited cultivating
In Summer 2016 a Professional Landscape Artist created Gardens in the Northern section
In December 2016 we created three perimeter plots now in the “creep stage”(2)(2018)
A 300 ft Plot (planted December 2017) Is now in the sleep stage(1) in summer 2018 (west side of property)
“I like that you planted prairie garden on the island at the bottom of Stone Ridge. We should consider this for other common gardens as we have difficulty recruiting volunteers for maintenance. Prairie gardens require a minimal amount of time and work. The garden below my building - one of the initial plots - is beautiful” Dawn in an e-mail to Tom
